Mike is currently the managing director of EdTech Asia Limited, a consultancy, research, and event company that provides industry insight and serves to catalyze growth for the edtech ecosystem throughout Asia and beyond.

Michael's track record covers more than 15 years of successful business in international VC, M&A, corporate finance, controlling and treasury.

Salah-Eddine Kandri is the Global Head of Education at IFC. Since April 2014, he has been leading IFC’s Education Practice overseeing IFC investment program in the Education sector globally and across all levels of education. Prior to that, Salah-Eddine was the Regional Manager for Consumer Services for four years covering Europe, Central Asia, Middle East and North Africa region (EMENA) based in Dubai.

Salah-Eddine joined IFC in 2006 as a Senior Investment Officer in Washington, DC and moved to Dubai in 2009 to lead IFC’s program in the Health and Education sectors in the Arab region.

Since early 2010, Salah-Eddine spearheaded the Education for Employment (E4E) Initiative for Arab youth and was co-lead for the development of IFC and IsDB's report 'Education for Employment: Realizing Arab Youth Potential' which was launched in April 2011.

Prior to IFC, Salah-Eddine spent six years at the Islamic Development Bank in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia where he was in charge of the Infrastructure & ICT Private Sector Division. Earlier in his career, he worked for three years at the Central Bank of Morocco focusing on the development of local capital market. Salah-Eddine is a Fulbright Scholar and holds an MBA and a MSc. in Finance from the University of Maryland College Park. He has also an undergrad degree in Chemical Engineering from Ecole Nationale de l’Industrie Minérale, Rabat, Morocco.

Reinhard Gorenflos is Founder and CEO of Tua Res Foundation (, committed to promoting the education of vulnerable girls in Burkina Faso, Western Africa. Founded in 2012, Tua Res has already supported 4895 girls. TuaRes provides food, material and financial aid for girls and their families. It also organises tuition classes, psychological support, health checks and life skills training. TuaRes promotes employability by offering English, IT and professional training as well as university scholarships. In his earlier career, Reinhard worked in corporate management and in private equity, including service as CFO of ARAL AG, Germany, and as partner of KKR & Co, London.

Reinhard is Board Member of AppsFor Good, London, and the Stiftung Lyrik–Kabinett (Poetry Foundation), Munich, and is a member of the Ashoka Support Network (ASN). He studied Economics, History and Public Administration at Freiburg, Paris and Harvard Universities. Reinhard Gorenflos was Scholar of the German National Scholarship Foundation and John J McCloy Academic Scholar. He was elected Global Leader for Tomorrow by the World Economic Forum, Davos. Reinhard lives in Munich, Germany, and has three children.

Anand Sudarshan is the Founder & Director of Sylvant Advisors Private Limited. Anand is also an independent director at NIIT. Till June 2012, he was Vice-Chairman & Managing Director of MaGE (Manipal Global Education Private Limited), where he has had a distinguished career since May 2006.

He currently advises companies & entities in the education sector, and is also a fund advisor with TVS Capital Funds. He is active in supporting Government of India in policy formulation, and is a member of select Committees & Task Forces of the Planning Commission of India as well as the Ministry of Human Resource Development.

Prior to his stint at MaGE, he was President, Adea International (a wholly owned subsidiary of Adea Solutions, Inc, Dallas TX), responsible for all global businesses of the IT Services & Solutions company.

In 1989 Anand co-founded The Microland Group and for almost 14 years he was part of the team that built it into one of the leading privately held Indian technology company’s chain.

He has a Bachelor of Engineering degree (B.S Degree) in Electronics and Communications Engineering from the National Institute of Technology, Trichy, India, and a PGDM from the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta, India.

Julia Moffett, is Director of Innovation at Equity Group Foundation in Nairobi, Kenya, where her current priorities include education innovation and the recent launch of Equity Bank’s mobile platform, Equitel.

Founder of the Future of Learning Fund, she assists entrepreneurs who are transforming education with 21st century learning solutions in the developing world access capital and strategic support.

Her previous roles included:

  • Director of Strategic Planning in the Clinton White House and National Security Council
  • Vice President at NBC News
  • Managing Director of the Markle Foundation
  • Director of Strategy at the BBC World Service Trust.

She has held consulting engagements with the Omidyar Network, World Bank Institute, UK Department for International Development and Open Society Institute among others.

Julia serves or has served on numerous Boards and Advisory Boards that include: the Burberry Foundation, Maiyet, Peace One Day, Global Kids, Rock the Vote and Videre, and she is an active advisor to numerous education start-ups in Nairobi. She was also a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and the International Finance Committee for ‘Obama for President’ in 2008 and 2012.


Deepak Chandra

Deputy Dean, Indian School of Business (ISB)

Deepak Chandra is an Independent Consultant in the Education Space. He is the ex-Deputy Dean at the Indian School of Business, a globally top ranked business school and the founder/CEO at DM Education Services Private Limited, a firm engaged in Vocational Education and Consulting. He is a board member at the National Police Academy, MHRD Committee on Innovation University Bill, ISB’s Business Incubator, Healthpoint Inc, etc.

Deepak has an MBA from the University of Allahabad, and an AMP from ISB-Kellogg School of Management.
